Miss Crocodilly

Miss Crocodilly – Doug McDonald
Miss Crocodilly was a pretty little thing
And just old enough to have a bitty fling
She travelled up north by the mango stand
North by east from the never never land
Mister Crocodog was a mighty big noise
Up in the north he was king of the boys
A great big thrasher with a 20 foot tail
He could make the mightiest trembling wail
Now Mister Crocodog went to town one day
Just for a munch and a little bitty play
Miss Crocodilly he there a spied
“Now there’s a nice filly I’ll make her my bride”
Not being backward in this sort of thing
He wandered on over like a fully blown king
He said “Now Miss it sounds kinda silly
But how about your being Mrs Crocodocodilly”
She said “Now Mister you’re mighty uncouth
You’ve got no manners and you’re missing a tooth
Besides all that you’re just a big log
I’m a Crocodilly and you’re a Crocodog”
Back in the swamps Mister Crocodog cried
“She’ll be my wife though she’s hurt my pride”
So he learned up his manners from the etiquette book
Made a false tooth and restored his good looks
Mister Crocodog then marched into town
He said “Now Miss don’t you turn me down”
She looked up at him and said “I must have the wog
But I will change my name to Mrs Crocodillydog”
And so they were married in the ‘T Tree’ church
And not long after she was having her first
She looked up at hubby with a great big smile
And said “Now dear we’ll have to call him…Master Crocodile”

The Munganana Jig - Ken McDonald
The Yellow Caterpillar was walking down the track
There was a Red Belly Black there, lying on his back
He said “Hey Mr Snake, you better keep awake
If I step on your tail, it’s gonna be too late! ”
The snake said “Hey you munga little cat
I love sleeping in the sun, thanks for the rap
We can do the Munganana and we’ll be the best of friends
I’ll teach you how to do it, then you teach it to your friends”
Chorus
So they did the Munganana Jig
And went round and round
They did the Munganana
Wriggling on the ground
They did the Munganana Jig
Their bodies they bend
They did the Munganana
They left the best of friends
The Yellow Caterpillar was walking down the track
There was a Big Black Dog just waiting to attack
He said “Hey you Cat you better get back
I could do my nana cos you’re stomping on my track”
The Cat said “Hey you munga big dog
I hear what you say but you got me all wrong
We can do the Munganana and we’ll be the best of friends
I’ll teach you how to do it, then you do it with your friends”
Chorus … “Stomping on the ground”
The Yellow Caterpillar was walking down the track
There was a Big Red Roo there having a good scratch
He said “Hey you big Roo, you want to get down
I want to hitch a ride cos I’m late to get to town”
The Roo said “Hey, so you’re the munga cat
The Big Black Dog caught me having a little nap
He taught me Munganana Jig so now we’re best of friends
I’ll hop you into town, then we’ll bop with our friends”
Chorus ... “Hopping on the ground”
Chorus ... “Wriggling on the ground”

Platypus in the Broken River - Ken McDonald
Not too far from the Pacific Ocean
There’s a place to get away from the heat and commotion
It’ll put your mind right back in slow motion
In the heat of the summertime
The platypus living in the Broken River
He doesn’t want to quibble he doesn’t want to shiver
He just want to settle down and lay a few eggs
In the heat of the summertime
Old man platypus says what a lark
Swimming up and down in a national park
People coming down to have a look around
In the heat of the summertime
Chorus
Platypus master of the backstroke
Yeah he can eat the butterfly
He’d never been a one to take to breastroke
Freestyle well that’s his life
The platypus shoulda been a Wahoo
You never know what he’s gonna do
He doesn’t buy goggles and he doesn’t need flippers
He can tumble turn like the loop the loop
Up first thing at the crack of dawn
Try to see the platypus feeling like a prawn
Don’t see a thing you try to-morrow morning
In the heat of the summertime
Up around Eungella’s national park
The platypus comes out at night plays in the dark
Daytime never turned him on for a start
In the heat of the summertime
Instrumental break
Chorus
The platypus living in the Broken River
He doesn’t want to quibble he doesn’t want to shiver
He just want to settle down and lay a few eggs
In the heat of the summertime

Baby Beluga – Raffi & D. Pike
Baby beluga in the deep blue sea
Swim so wild and swim so free
Heaven above and the sea below
And a little white whale on the go
Baby beluga, baby beluga
Is the water warm, is your mamma home
With you so happy
Way down yonder where the dolphins play
Where you dive and splash all day
Waves roll in and the waves roll out
See the water squirting out of your spout
Baby beluga, baby beluga
Sing your little song, sing for all your friends
We like to hear you
When it’s dark and you’re home and fed
Curl up snug in your water bed
Moon is shining and the stars are out
Good night little whale good night
Baby beluga, baby beluga
With to-morrows sun another days begun
You’ll soon be waking
Baby beluga in the deep blue sea
Swim so wild and swim so free
Heaven above and the sea below
And a little white whale on the go
You’re just a little white whale on the go

Do You Dig Rock and Roll - Ken McDonald
One two three four !
Do you dig rock and roll
A beat up version of blues and soul
Come on baby for a while
Maybe baby it could make you smile
Do you dig rock and roll
Shake the lid on the sugar bowl
Do you have a real cool Mum
Shake it Mama and have some fun
Dance away your spooky night
Make your body feel alright
Send vibrations through the floor
Stop the thunder of your Papa snore
Do you dig rock and roll
A beat up version of blues and soul
Come on baby for a while
Maybe baby it could make you smile

Hervey Bay - Ken McDonald
We love walking we love swimming
We love talking we love singing
We have fun in the sun
When we’re at Hervey Bay
We get happy we get mad
We love Mum we fight Dad
We have fun in the sun
When we’re at Hervey Bay
Fishing for whiting on Urangan jetty
You can smell ‘em you can taste ‘em sure beats spaghetti
I can see Fraser in the distance
Wonder what we’re gonna get for Christmas presents
We get presents when Santa comes
Plastic bullfrogs rowdy drums
We have fun in the sun
When we’re at Hervey Bay
We get happy we get sad
We fight Mum we love Dad
We have fun in the sun
When we’re at Hervey Bay
Can hear Aunty Lesley laughing a block away
Laughing all day laughing the night away
Who’s gonna tell her she’s scaring the fish away
Don’t go to Fraser ..she’d scare all the whales away
We love walking we love swimming
We love talking we love singing
We have fun in the sun
When we’re at Hervey Bay

Satchenal the Billygoat - Ken McDonald
Satchenal the billygoat
He tried to go to school
But he was just a fool
He left home at far too late
And when he got to school
The teacher caught him at the gate
“Why are you late Satchenal? ”
She would plead in hope
But he was just a dope
“Just because ” he’d say to her
The teacher would get mad
And Satchenal was glad
Chorus
Satchenal the billygoat
Couldn’t read or write
Satchenal though just a fool
Really was alright
Satchenal the billygoat
Sat quietly in school
Cos he was just a fool
The other kids all did their best
But Satchenal would loaf
And wearily he’d rest
When lunch came the teacher said
“ Satchenal wake up
You’re not at home in bed ”
He would rush out through the door
And nine times out of ten
He knocked the teacher on the floor
Chorus
Satchenal the billygoat
Had to leave the school
Cos he was such a fool
Now he’s living at our home
But Mum thinks good of him
Cos we don’t need a bin
All our scraps and empty tins
Go to Satchenal
Who puts them inside of him
Peacefully he sleeps all day
And when it comes to meals
Satchenal’s awake
Chorus

Anon. - The Fox
02:31
|

The Fox - traditional
The fox went out one chilly night
Prayed to the moon to give him light
For he’d many a mile to go that night
Before he reached the towno towno towno
He’d many a mile to go that night
Before he reached the towno
He ran til he came to the great big pen
The ducks and the geese were kept therein
A couple of you are going to grease my chin
Before I leave this towno towno towno
A couple of you are going to grease my chin
Before I leave this towno
He grabbed the grey goose by the neck
Threw a duck across his back
And he didn’t mind their quack quack quack
And the legs all dangling downo downo downo
He didn’t mind their quack quack quack
And the legs all dangling downo
Old mother Macadonald jumped out of bed
Out of the window she cocked her head
Crying John John the grey goose is gone
The fox is on the towno towno towno
John John the grey goose is gone
The fox is on the towno
He ran til he came to the cosy den
There were the little ones eight, nine, ten
Saying Daddy Daddy better go back again
Cos it must be a mighty fine towno towno towno
Daddy Daddy better go back again
It must be a mighty fine towno
The fox and his wife without any strife
Cut up the goose with a fork and a knife
And they never had such a supper in their life
And the little ones chewed on the boneso boneso boneso
They never had such a supper in their life
And the little ones chewed on the boneso
